Slow Wood was born in 2014 in order to provide its customers the knowledge and the passion of its founders: Gianni Cantarutti, rare, ancient and lesser known wood species expert with a thirty-year research work in the wood industry, and Marco Parolini, with long experience in project management, and always fascinated by the world of woodworking.
With thirty years experience in the study, research and selection of fine woods from all over the world, Gianni Cantarutti is a staunch supporter of responsible wood resourcing. Thanks to his global connections, he has access to more than 300 wood species technically and commercially usable. He also owns a xylotheque which has more than 1700 different types of wood and is one of the most meaningful collections of the world.
After graduating in engineering and having worked for 15 years in the fields of operations management, having acquired the skills needed to manage complex projects, Marco Parolini has decided to found Slow Wood, the starting point of an activity that merges his personal passion for wood with a longlife experience in project management.
A team with several skills as project management, product development, interior design, strategy, communication and marketing supports the founding members.
